Our Business

Doug Tippett began his automotive career in service stations in 1959.  Service stations in the Bradenton area included Tippett Shell in Ellenton, Tippett Shell on the corner of Cortez Rd and 26th Street and Tippett Texico on 1st Street.   The service station business was the foundation of Doug's mechanical expertise which makes him uniquely qualified to choose quality, reliable and mechanically sound vehicles.  In 1991, Tippett Auto Sales was establised at 1901 Cortez Rd West as a family owned and operated business.  Doug Tippett, his wife Donna along with daughters Darcy Tippett Leahy and Debbie Detweiler, son John as well as brothers Dave and Ernie Tippett all worked together to build a reputable automobile business that has earned the trust of the community.  Many thanks goes to the dedicated employees that provided quality service over the years including Ron, Ina, John, Jeff Terry and Paul.  Doug Tippett retired in 2005.  While he had ideas of retirement, his customers had other plans!  After providing honest, reliable service to many loyal customers over the years, they had come to trust Tippett Auto Sales and urged Doug to continue to provide his personaized selling and buying services.  Tippett Auto Sales was moved to the back of the existing building  to reduce overhead cost which of course is now passed on to you the customer.  Doug continues to offer his personalized service to our loyal customers as well as new customers looking for great service and the best possible deal.
